A Political Cartoon: Neoliberalism continues to steamroll into Mexico

I just stumbled upon this cartoon that was originally published in the Imparcial de Oaxaca in the southern and heavily indigenous state of Oaxaca. I will be sure to post more as I come across them.

Just a quick note about the cartoon. It's really pretty straight-forward; neoliberalism--especially in its post NAFTA form--has displaced millions of Mexican farmers and low-income workers who have had no means to compete with the low prices of goods manufactured in bulk by foreign companies. Where have these farmers gone? As I've mentioned before, either to the 1) US or 2) the informal market. These two outlets are at the heart of the continued weakening of the economic and social fabric of Mexico.

And, besides, the cartoon looks damn cool.
