Anniversary of Massacre reminds many of just how little has changed

It's been more than three decades since the 'Dirty Wars' officially ended in Mexico and other Latin American neighbors further to the south. Unfortunately, as Jay Root points out, the government's 'dirty' policies of discouraging public dissent by indiscriminately detaining and at times 'disappearing' political dissidents are hardly a thing of the past. This is a reality that made yesterday's already somber commemoration of the 39 year anniversary of the Tlateloco Massacre all that more depressing.
